Tyrone have been strangely reluctant throughout all of this to actually confirm the number of players that have tested positive for covid, the number that are isolating and when they will be able to resume training. No individual player needs to be named to do that.

Until they do so the GAA shouldn't even consider any further postponement.

The gaa should step in here and help them out. Give them a few weeks.

They don't have to disclose anything to anyone but they GAA which they've done. It's nobody else's business.

Replying To carlovia:  "That's not possible. Can't just postpone an all Ireland final at the drop of a hat. What about hotel bookings and travel plans for supporters ? Or the plans for the Croke park stewards and employees.

What about club fixtures in the four counties involved.

We knew that the last two years competition was not going to be ideal but I think we have to finish the competition and get on with the clubs."
In case you missed it the final has already been postponed, it's been postponed almost every year since since they announced it moving from the traditional third Sunday.

If we can postpone it for many other things, surely we can postpone it for lads health and sporting integrity.

Replying To BigJoe14:  "Tyrone have basically called the GAA's bluff. Under no circumstances can the GAA allow Kerry to be given a walkover straight into the final. The credibility of the championship would be destroyed (its already on shakey grounds due to lack of competition and no backdoor) and I can't imagine sponsors being happy to be associated with this. Also lack of revenue from 24,000 fans not going to the game. Three options on the GAA's table now, give Tyrone the extra week, line Monaghan up now to play Kerry next weekend or allow this walkover to happen.

The biggest lossers and the ones I feel most sorry for in this are Kerry. Not that I normally feel sorry for them, but they have been put in a situation not of their own making and I am sure would in no way whatsoever be happy to get a walkover into an All Ireland final.

All the power is with Tyrone on this, they have nothing to lose really. They do however, have questions to answer as to how they got themselves into such a mess with covid."
The biggest losers in this are Tyrone. They've had to withdraw because of a highly infectious illness spreading through the squad as it has through our society for the past 18 months. Where have you been?

?? There are 20 players who have tested positive. This isn't a secret. It's been in the news and dooher came out and said many times that over half the panel are unavailable.

I agree but so did Kildare and the faa eventually gave in. I feel for Tyrone here and of course being selfish I'd rather Kerry got to play a semi final but we are in totally unprecedented times so as you have stated before let the gaa top dogs earn their big money and try to be fair to all involved.

How can any team expect monaghan to be up to speed. They won't have trained since the tyrone game.

If Monaghan refuse then offer it to Derry or Donegal

What do you mean "Tyrone have questions to answer about how they got themselves into this mess", what questions? There is a very contagious virus out there, do you not know that?

I think Tyrone have the GAA over a barrel here and if they play their cards right this game will be rescheduled for a second time.

The GAA will buckle if they think they will lose revenue so Tyrone should make it clear soon that it's either a new date or they will be left with no option but to pull out.

I think the GAA will fold if there is enough pressure put on them.

Yes absolutely they need to earn their crust. I mean we aren't trying to put a man on the moon here ffs, surely there are enough brains in HQ to sort this out. If not, McCarthy should resign straight away.

I would think that even if they had another week or two weeks, they probably still wouldn't be ready. It's not as if they will just be able to bounce back after their quarantine requirement - just hope no long term impact for any of them.

Sorry, since you insist on being pedantic - "as anyone who has had a symptomatic case of covid, with moderate to severe symptoms knows".

Croke Park need to step up now and do whatever it takes to accommodate Tyrone. If they don't they'll look like idiots and lose the solidarity that the GAA is built on.
If it was Dublin that this happened to the All Ireland would be rescheduled until everyone is fit and well.

Tyrone had to withdraw from 2001 nfl semi final which I think they would have won. One week/ two weeks makes no difference here. Unless this was put back weeks then we can only wish the rest of the teams good luck. In saying that Tyrone were also put out of the u21 all Ireland semi final in April 2001 but Tyrone appealed and won the competition the following October.

The gaa are in an impossible situation in trying to finish this before September and they have already messed up the league with adherence to a tight deadline.

The GAA will always buckle when enough pressure comes on. Tyrone will be accommoda6ed.

Yes, I got it in Spain in March last year from walking through a largely deserted Madrid, having a coffee in a pavement cafe with one other person in it, several metres away from me, disinfecting hands constantly and getting a single occupant cab to airport. I was paranoid enough and had no close contact with anybody and still got it.
