Tyrone more then deserve their chance, the toughest route of all to get to this stage any thing else just devalues the whole shabang."
Totally agree. I takes more than a week to recover from Covid if you've had a bad dose.

Give Tyrone whatever they need,
it's an All-Ireland competition after all.

Great decision by Tyrone GAA to pull out of the championship. Good to see player welfare being top of the agenda here.

Croke park will be forced to respond to Tyrone's statement before today's semi but I don't hold out much hope for a further postponement

Tyrone will not field a team next week.

I think the GAA now need to let the loser of the Mayo v Dublin game remain in the All-Ireland series and face Kerry next week or reschedule the Tyrone fixture once again.

So now its official with tyrone stating they will not be fielding next weekend against kerry.
Headquarters really need to do the right thing and push it back another week, or i would like to see Kerry coming out in support and refusing to accept a buy into the final.

Jesus, we are living in in precedented times!
That's a tough decision for Tyrone to have had to make, Ball definitely back in GAA court now. Flexibilty and common sense needed now. Kerry can't be expected to lay a final in September totally undercooked. IN know club fixtures have to be fulfilled but why not push it out to October???

Just seen the Tyrone statement, it is correct and welfare needs to come first with medical advice the only consideration used; that is a given and nothing should go before that so well done Tyrone.

The GAA need to look at the sporting implications though after that, do they decide to allow Kerry to proceed to the final which would be understandable and accept Tyrone can't field and like Sligo last season have to withdraw from the championship?

Or do they decide the semi final should be played at some stage? If that decision is made then consideration needs to be given to the other three counties, particularly Kerry. They haven't played since the 25th July, anyone who recalls the old Quarter Final system would know there is a lot of evidence of teams struggling after sitting about for weeks. Is this fair on Kerry from a sporting prespective?

In hindsight the Dublin v Mayo match shouldn't have been played today with the GAA announcing new semi final dates on the same weekend and the final date sometime in mid/late September with a discussion within those counties about how they can get a club champion nominated in time. Knowing the dates in advance may have allowed all counties including Kerry to fit a challenge match or two etc into their preparations.

Whoever wins today won't know when the final is, and if the GAA do decide to allow Kerry into the final then it would be a 6 weeks gap going into an All Ireland final, that won't help Kerry. At the same time if Kerry v Tyrone is played when would that be and how many weeks will Dublin/Mayo have to sit about before the final?

It is too late to cancel Dublin v Mayo now so big decisions ahead for the GAA this week.

Great timing by Tyrone. Couldn't wait until after the other game, or were they hoping it would be cancelled too???

The gaa will fold and give Tyrone another week to get ready as they won't want to lose the funds from the game plus they'll be able to sell 40,000 tickets for the semifinal now.

It's a pity Tyrone had to go to these lengths to get a bit of fairness from HQ it's shocking how the suits in Croke Park are so detached from the normal country folk.

Tyrone have basically called the GAA's bluff. Under no circumstances can the GAA allow Kerry to be given a walkover straight into the final. The credibility of the championship would be destroyed (its already on shakey grounds due to lack of competition and no backdoor) and I can't imagine sponsors being happy to be associated with this. Also lack of revenue from 24,000 fans not going to the game. Three options on the GAA's table now, give Tyrone the extra week, line Monaghan up now to play Kerry next weekend or allow this walkover to happen.

The biggest lossers and the ones I feel most sorry for in this are Kerry. Not that I normally feel sorry for them, but they have been put in a situation not of their own making and I am sure would in no way whatsoever be happy to get a walkover into an All Ireland final.

All the power is with Tyrone on this, they have nothing to lose really. They do however, have questions to answer as to how they got themselves into such a mess with covid.

I'm sure Tyrone would have consulted the GAA before this announcement was made which would suggest that the GAA were not for budging.
