All Ireland Football Final 2020 - Dublin V Mayo

Replying To club51:  "Absolutely nailed it in one!"
Nonsense! If Mayo win an All Ireland it will raise the standard in both Galway and Roscommon and give them a better chance of winning it in Croke Park. There is huge rivalry between Galway and Mayo on the field of play, the same as all neighbouring counties, but off the field it's totally different. There is a lot of intermarriage between Mayo and Galway people, they cross the county boundary regularly. It would be a great boost for Connacht football if Mayo were to win the All Ireland and a great relief for Mayo people. No more than Waterford in the hurling, their wait has been far too long, lets hope this year is their year.

I can see Mayo making a game of this, as they did in the semis last year, before the Dubs rail road them in the 2nd half.

themselves promoting themselves a Top 8 team.

Kerry will want a Dublin win, as it also offers a comforting blanket of not having let an easy All Ireland Pass them by...
which is unheard of down there.

Galway fans wouldn't want a Mayo victory as it will develop them further ,and Galway obviously won't want that
as we are local rivals and bitterness has set in especially since Horan changed things in 2010.

Rossies want to be Mayo, enough said.
They hate us.

Guys from the North will definitely want to see Mayo give it a go..

There's a clear agenda towards Dublin atm with various countries blaming everybody and everybody but themselves..

Dublin winning by a grand margin allows other countries continue using Dublin's success to mask their own problems
but most people on here can see right through ye....

so here's to another final from two teams who look after themselves..... and should serve up another modern day physical and tactical battle."

Are you for real? The effects of self-isolation?

Couldn't agree more I think the begrudgers want mayo to get hammered so they can justify why there own county not been good enough to compete with the dubs on the field of play. Also I think Kerry definitely wants Dublin to hammer mayo coz they want to be the ones that ends the Dublin unbeaten run

If meath aren't in the top 8 then who do you have ahead of them besides Kerry Dublin Tyrone donegal mayo and galway? Like it's a flip of a coin between meath and the likes of Monaghan cavan and roscommon. I'd definitely put meath ahead of cork

Mayo to defeat Dublin would surely be the greatest upset in the history of sport because this Dublin team is unbeatable simple as that.

I think you're well wide of the mark with your generalisations.
As a Galway man, I'll be shouting for Mayo, as will most people I know. That's not out of any issue with Dublin either. I have a huge amount of time for their current team. They have some of the best players to ever play the game.
Neutrals will ususally support the underdog. Add in the fact that so many of this Mayo team are very deserving of at least one All-Ireland title. There are some brilliant servants of the county and fantastic players in that panel.
Finally, I think it would also be good for Connacht football. What better kick up the backside does Galway need, than seeing Mayo winning Sam.
If that doesn't get us fired up, nothing will!

Well I definitely want Mayo to win and if they do il celebrate it as if it was kerry that won it but I just cant see Mayo beating dublin and we wouldn't have beat dublin either.

I want Mayo to win because I believe we can beat Dublin as well if things fell for us and we got over whatever psychological barrier we have at the minute. It'd be nice to see another competitor show they can be beat. I am sick to the back teeth of everyone saying Dublin are going to win the next 10 All-Irelands and what's the point etc etc etc.

On the other hand I would hate a Mayo win to be used as an excuse that everything is hunky dory in inter county football.

That's a very fair assessment and definitely agree with mayo deserveing an all Ireland like if we're honest about it they could be going for at very least there third all Ireland Sunday week referee robbed them in the 16 draws game of a free in to win it when a Dublin player picked the ball clean of the ground along with own goals. And in 17 that soft free for Dublin to win it. We wouldn't be haven the Dublin domiance disgustion 24/7 if mayo had one ounce of luck and the refs were fair

I'm the same none deserves an all ireland more than this mayo team. If mayo were to win this it would give the other contenders hope for next year that the dubs aren't unbeatable. and I'd believe Kerry would win it next year also think Tyrone won't be to far away in a couple of years

Deserve got's nothing to with it.....like in life you gotta grab the opportunity when it's presented...go and take it whatever it takes.

If we win we will have deserved it but make no mistake it's a tall order against a sublime team.

IF we can get our match ups right, play to 100% of our ability which we have done against Dublin in the past we have a great chance BUT I still think then bench could be the winning and loosing of it.

In all the finals we have played Dublin their bench has kicked 0-9 to our 0-1....that's your difference in tight games right there.

Obviously you have Mayo's new injection of youth and a new manager for the Dubs in Dessie Farrell. Dublin have not been tested this year yet and are Mayo ready for this battle? I guess we will soon find out.

Anyone else smelling PR stunt in Jack Mc's revelations? Funny timing if you ask me and no one better than the ould Dubs for diffusing attention... they're doubtless well advised in that regard no more than everything else. It's like spinning winning as a burden and maybe, just maybe, this year they'll be all so sick of it they'll hardly be able to raise a gallop in the final! Jesus wept!!

The question really is what breed of a calamity will strike Mayo on the 19th of December?

No pressure, no crowd. Dublin not tested."
So if Mayo lose, Mayo's chances of winning the 2070 All Ireland will be zero on the basis that they lost the 2020 Final? That makes perfect sense right enough

A loss on penalties after the last Dublin one hits the post but goes in off David Clarke's back.

Literally the last way they can find to lose a final.

Is it possible that Jack was being honest and referring to himself at all?
