There once was a professional team,
The only one that appeared to be seen,
They got all the grants
And sponsored new pants
And everyone else thought it obscene.

There was an auld lad from Kerry
Who could never ever be merry
But down in his slurry
He was filled with worry
That the Dubs would do six in a row

But the suits in Croke Park
Kept us all in the dark
Nothing to see here they said

The cash cow making the green
Sure isn't it great to be seen
Who cares if football is dead

Just looking at the Mayo team there and a nice team it is too. They will catch us one day and tomorrow could be it, good look to them if they do. Farrell is starting with players like Howard, Mannion and Costello on the bench, handy resources.
Safe journey to the Mayo crew and may the better team on the day win. Its a weird All-Ireland but it'll be on the record books so its all to play for.

All I can say is if Dublin win by 10-15 points gailge football is finished. Talking about a 2 tier championship? The tiers should be Dublin in tier 1 and the 31 other counties in tier 2

All in Mayo are screaming, all in Mayo are dreaming,In Santa claus they are believing.Santa claus they say, please on Christmas day,can we have just one big present and it ain't a turkey or a bloody pheasant. Please Santa, we don't give a damm on how you get it to us but please just give us Sam.Santa please just try and fix and stop the Dubs from winning six.Santa said I'll try my best and put that curse of yours to rest.As Santa got up on his sleigh,I heard him curse the bloody Gaa, pumping all the money into the this beast, all the rest of us hungry, while the Dubs they feast. Now is today the day,can they bust the Dubs dam?Can Santa finally help Mayo to win the Sam?Good luck to them both, with no crowd it's a shame but let's hope for a cracking football game. From a proud Meathman, I just want to say Happy Christmas to all and have a nice day.

Nonsense, there's plenty of teams that can challenge Dublin, Leinster is weak and the Championship needs to be tiered, our clubs have junior, intermediate and senior grades and that structure should be there for counties too imo.
Dublin have 5 in a row but they were hard fought wins by narrow margins and some replays, it's easy to cry about Dublin's advantages, Dublin have a fantastic crop of players and they deserve all the credit they get, fantastic ambassadors for Gaelic football on and off the field, counties need to get their own house in order and not be whinging about Dublin and looking for excuses.
May the best team win today and it's great to have the game to look forward to, this All Ireland Championship strange as it is has helped get me through this dark horrible Winter so far.

Weird feeling this morning.

Whatever the result, let's hope we never have to be in a position where were having to watch all Ireland finals without spectators ever again cause its grim.

You couldn't begrudge mayo one, itd be typical that the one they win will be the one where noone can enjoy it from the ground. As for the Dubs, 5 in a row done, we will lose one at some stage, I've a funny feeling today could be that day and if that's the case, no problem. Weve had a great run and I'd love it to continue. In what has been a crazy year, my head tells me Mayo will make it a bit weirder by winning but my heart says Dublin have far too much and ill let my heart rule my head. Dublin by 8

Tá tú ag cáint ráiméis. Come on Mayo, come on O Shea, lets score the goals and send the Dubs on their way!

Dublin did have teams to challenge them. But who are these plenty of teams??? They beat the best team in Ulster in third gear by 15 points if they wanted it could of been 25 and that's the team that won 4 matches in Ulster including beating Monaghan and donegal

Agree here pal, its a wired one, im really excited for both games, but its the not going thats a killer, really miss it, Finals Vs Mayo are that bit special given the crowds and will really miss it today, im heading out to watch the games with the gang so hopefully we will bump into to some good Mayo skins in the battle cruiser and have a bit of craic and banter. Not a fan of watching games on Tv in general, i think you only ever see 30% of the game compared to live.

My feeling toward the game it self is one of contentment, achieving the five in a row was such a driving force for so long, that we are well into bonus territory and can look at today with a security of achievement, contentment and be philosophical about it with the year that in it, nothing could tarnish these years now or opinions of these group of players. Its supporting a new cycle and Dessies regime now, so in a way part of it feels fresh and new. Dont get me wrong ill be shouting for every ball today and be screaming Dublin on to win.

Job of work will be squeezing he life out of Clarks kickouts, having a plan to limit the effectiveness of the Mayo half back line and stopping the service into forward line, id we win those battles i think it could carry the day. We're well capable.

Best of luck to both Dublin teams today, Mayo and Galway. Hope everyone enjoys the game.

As always up the Dubs.

No, I wouldn't begrudge Mayo this one at all. And, yes, it's pure Mayo.....the one year that they might win an All-Ireland the supporters can't go. And worse still, no Sam Maguire to bring home either. That said, I do think we'll win this one. In last few days the hype has finally started about the 6 in a row (I don't like that, there's even talk of 'In heaven with seven', God help us!) But, back in the bad old days in the mid 1990s, did we ever think we'd see Dublin win seven, yes think about it for a moment or two, 'SEVEN' All Ireland titles in nine years, including the Five in a Row, which they can never take away from us. Dublin in the Rare Old Times....."These are the Rare Old Times". UP THE DUBS!!!!!!

OMG the tension and excitement is unbearable just hours before the start!
Every man, woman and child who likes sports no Matter if its Hurling, Gaelic Football, Soccer, Rugby or even Cricket will be glued to the box for the All Ireland Football Final....the TV ratings will go through the roof!
The amount of talk I've heard of people saying "Do you know what....I think Mayo might just win the All Ireland with not a fan to be seen in the Stadium "
Could they? Will they? Is the "Curse " going to be finally bushwhacked!!
