There's that "bias" again you were mentioning the other day eh? ;)

Yes, other stuff the ref may or may not have missed suddenly gets left out of ones argument as it doesn't suit them.

What was killian Clarke on rock..blatant black card ref bottled it and gave a yellow..I love the lads who blame the ref when u lose by 15pts!!! Cavan very poor carrying the ball into the tackle and getting turned over sure that must be the reds fault!!

Think you put your finger on it. Unfortinately with 30% of pop in Dublin its not Dubs fault. Our carparks are full with people working in Dublin from the four corners of Ireland. Gaelic foitball is such a simple game any kind of coached system will affect the game. Doesnt happen in any other GAA code, problem is the game.

It was the 1 route to goal we had. But Branagan made sure we couldn't use it.

You might have gotten within 10 points of the Dubs had those decisions gone your way. An Ulster ref giving Dublin everything against an Ulster team. I've heard it all now.

I wonder will the CCC convene a meeting at haste to ensure Galligan's red card is rescinded on the same grounds as Cormac Costello's ? Surely verbal abuse is acceptable now as the CCC set a precedent recently or does it only apply in special cases.

Like when he didn't give Cooper a very obvious black card? Ref was poor all round, saved by the fact that it was a clean open game

The era of the gifted forward winning matches is long gone. Dublin I'm sure have forwards who could do memorable individual scores, but they're just not allowed to. Hold, hold, hold, no-pressure hand-passes into the scoring zone and simple points. Very effective, but very dull to watch. Hard to argue with the results though. essmac (Tyrone) - Posts: 1141 - 06/12/2020 00:03:35 2318935 Link 1 |
Just wondering how would the good Tyrone and Kerry teams of the noughties do against the current Dublin team, both teams had serious work horses along with very talented footballers. Is the problem that the counties apart from Dublin are not just up to it at the moment??? Updlocal (Meath) - Posts: 8 - 06/12/2020 00:06:46 2318937 Link 1 |

Don't be getting ahead of yourself. Down waltzed through us in the first half and could have easily beaten us. Antrim put it up to us too and I'm sure both Derry and Fermanagh would to. We have improved as the year went on but to call the rest dross is childish. We were never going to be close over 70 mins in that game Today but hopefully we will have learned alot from it. The fitness levels of Dublin and the tactical awareness allied to the superb skill of the players won the day and if you factor in the unbelievable strength in depth of the panel then it's nigh on impossible to contain them for very long. No doubt some astute management team is already getting to work on a system to beat them and that is the challenge that lies ahead. I thought Kerry or Donegal were best equipped this year to have a go at them but they both took their eye of the ball and so let the chance slip.

You are deciding that they were what they were after looking at TV replays - referees don't have that luxury and make split decisions from 50 meters away and don't anyone start on the tmo nonsense or two referees (unless they themselves put up their hand to go out and referee). Believe me that no referee gives yellow cards for someone just questioning a decision and you have the apologist commentators as well saying ah sure don't send him off because the game is almost over - its time to stop that way of thinking and hopefully Galligan will reflect on it and learn from it. zinny (Wexford) - Posts: 1976 - 06/12/2020 03:51:16 2318974 Link 1 |
Ref Horgan didn't give much to Waterford against yourselves last weekend even though it didn't matter in the end.Hope he has a good Final and that he's equally fair to both teams.

Here's my proposed solution. Each year the championship starts off with 5 teams, Leinster, Munster, Connacht, Ulster and Dublin. Over a few weekends in April/may they play a league.if Dublin win, intercounty season over, well done focus on the clubs. If any other province win, sam is contested between the counties in that province. Dublin get competitive matches and every county has a chance to lift Sam...... as farcical as the current system so worth a try!!!! And I'm taking the p#ss in case you're wondering DJMon (Monaghan) - Posts: 2 - 06/12/2020 07:45:52 2318984 Link 1 |
No. Every neutral and most Dubs saw what happened that day. A match handed to Dublin,
