You can't be writing that with a straight face surely. Dublin will have the game won by half time. Same as if they were playing Donegal. The gap has never been wider. benjyyy (Donegal) - Posts: 1428 - 22/11/2020 18:00:47 2313028 Link 3 |
Delighted for Cavan and fair play to them but no, they can't beat Dublin. Dublin will absolutely destroy them.

They defied the odds to beat you, why not Dublin ? Maybe the shock factor is gone now I guess.

Be a miracle if Cavan kept their defeat to a single digit figure eoghan6688 (Galway) - Posts: 159 - 22/11/2020 18:08:25 2313061 Link 0 |
And how do you think the Mayo v Tipp game will go..?? Tipp are, after all, a Div.3 team.... Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 4265 - 22/11/2020 18:12:32 2313066 Link 0 |
Would you gway out of that. Lambs to the slaughter. Meath and Kildare are as good as Cavan or Donegal on their day. Delighted for them but behave yourself Wayne. Let the media and RTE try create some misplaced hype but the All ireland this year is irrelevant like Leinster. daytona11 (Kildare) - Posts: 4012 - 22/11/2020 18:14:12 2313069 Link 0 |
Why should it be played in Croke Park then? More favouritism to the Dublin Pro's.

I remember saying that about Kerry. And Kilkenny actually.

Ahh would you go away outta that with this tripe. Cavan can hopefully keep it respectable. But no they can't beat dub$ royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 22/11/2020 18:27:40 2313093 Link 0 |
Dublin need to be beaten even though I cant see it. happening. They are class but no matter how skilful they are it's as dull as dish water to watch and very disheartening for other teams (particularly leinster teams) It would be great for football if they were dethroned.Tipp and Cavan winning is a massive boost for football. galwayfball (Galway) - Posts: 1704 - 22/11/2020 18:30:26 2313103 Link 0 |
Because they always had a chance to beat us. We've had 'better' teams before and not been up for the battle and come unstuck. The difference is that Dublin are so far ahead that even if you catch them on a bad day you'll still be nowhere near.

To be honest wayno there's no reason they can't defy the odds, in fact I think most years every county has the ability to pull off a big big shock and performance on the day. But I think it's a massive ask for them to reach that same intensity and emotional pitch the next day out. This is an outpouring for them and understandably so, you can naturally be a bit flat after a big push and win like that there today. That is my same worry for Tipp really, both counties have great football in them but I worry they may be a bit flat. Cavan will need to bring the same level and more against the Dubs and that is a massive ask for them. Not only that, they are coming up against the greatest team of all time. It's not just the Cavan performance and ability you have to look at, it's Dublin. I suppose if Dublin have an off day with their shooting boots and give Cavan any sniff at all in terms of not being at the right intensity, the game could be in the melting pot. But I find it hard to see happening. One thing people have said for years is that the Dublin full back line can be got at if teams only let the ball in. Well I tell you what Cavan certainly have the ability there. They played that brilliantly against us today, didn't let it in all the time but whenever we moved our sweeper out the field, the ball went in high and fast. However they'll need to be a lot more clinical than they were there today. We will see what happens the next day out but I think Dublin are too good to be caught. I will happily be cheering Cavan on and I hope I am wrong in two weeks time! JoeSoap (Donegal) - Posts: 1432 - 22/11/2020 18:41:48 2313130 Link 0 |
Bonus territory this for Cavan. They have some unreal battlers but Croke Park wont suit them. TakeyourPoint. (Tyrone) - Posts: 133 - 22/11/2020 18:48:14 2313144 Link 3 |
True. Kilkenny were miles ahead of anyone in hurling in Leinster for donkeys years. The issue is I can see Dublin doing 15-20 in Leinster. Its near on impossible for Kildare/ Meath /Laois / Westmeath to develop a winning mentality with whats going on currently. On a mental level we a seriously damaged goods although the funny thing is we are capable of beating anyone else on our day as Newbridge or nowehere showed. But who gives a toss about winning a poxy qualifer match. daytona11 (Kildare) - Posts: 4012 - 22/11/2020 18:50:49 2313150 Link 1 |
