Ken was one of the journalists who pushed for Stephen Kenny who ended up knocking Ireland down making it harder to qualify as they are third seeds now no longer second. Seems English rugby league are targeting Irish summers as a new market. Leinster rugby will be hosting 2 rugby league games next year during GAA season. Interesting the are not going to Scotland or Wales they are targeting Ireland

Not sure that's correct. I think we went to USA 94 ranked 6th in Europe. I take your point though.

The big difference there is Irish lads aren't getting the same opportunities they used to in the UK.

We were definitely in the top ten in the world for a while, and our highest ranking was sixth in the world.

Two matches over one weekend next April.

I wouldn't worry about it. That NFL (as in American Football NFL!) we had in Croke Park wasn't designed or expected to tempt GAA players away to that sport instead. Will be the same with these matches. A barney weekend in Dublin for supporters of those four teams, a boom for the pub trade, and a few interested Irish people - probably mainly from the rugby community anyway - going along for the novelty of it. It's not exactly an attack on the GAA.

Little or no interest for rugby league in Wales and particularly not in Scotland, and that's been shown several times over the years.

They can target it all they like there isnt much interest in it. very few play it or support it and many irish teams are made up of players living in england who have irish heritage
