A sensational point from Darragh McCarthy deep in injury-time saw Tipperary land the Munster U20 hurling championship at Cork’s expense last night.

It finished 1-19 to 0-21 at the TUS Gaelic Grounds, where McCarthy snatched the winner at the death after the Rebels had saw what looked like a goal for them not awarded in the 45th minute. William Buckley’s dipping point effort seemed to be pushed to the roof of the net not but wasn’t spotted by the officials before dropping in front of the goal line.

Tipp edged a 0-10 to 0-9 lead at the halfway stage and struck the game’s only goal nine minutes into the second-half via Oisin O’Donoghue to bump their advantage up to five.

Cork battled back and eventually hit the front again thanks to the points of Jack Leahy, Darragh O’Sullivan and Timmy Wilk. Tipp moved ahead again and Buckley’s point with two minutes to go looked like sending it to extra time before this remarkable winner from McCarthy in the fourth minute of injury-time (watch it below).
