A well-known Roscommon referee received a guard of honour before a game last weekend following the death of his mother.
In a touching moment, Ballaghaderreen’s Gerry Carmody was applauded onto the field by players from Creggs and Michael Glavey’s before the Division 2 League (O’Gara Cup) game in Creggs. Gerry is one of the most respected referees in Roscommon who has also officiated at the highest level in ladies football.
