A kick around at his local Coralstown-Kinnegad GFC grounds with his friends and teammates was all Westmeath youngster Eric Leonard wanted for his 9th birthday today.
But with all GAA facilities closed and activity suspended for at least another two months due to Covid-19 restrictions, Eric would be waiting a long time for the perfect birthday present. However, his dad Ronan came up with a better idea by deciding to build a mini-Coralstown-Kinnegad GFC grounds for him in his back garden during the coronavirus lockdown.

Primely located close to the M6 motorway, dad Ronan marked out a juvenile pitch and even turned the garden playhouse into dressing-rooms decked out in the red and white colours of Coralstown-Kinnegad.
Eric is looking forward to sharing a pitch with his friends and teammates once again in the future and plans to make his available for use by Coralstown-Kinnegad GFC "to help the club cope with demands of their own playing facilities!"
