Michael Murphy believes Mickey Harte is under pressure after Derry’s Ulster SFC quarter-final defeat to Donegal.

After a successful spring that ended in Allianz League glory, the Oak Leafers came a cropper in Celtic Park last Saturday evening. The manner of the defeat has led to renewed criticism from those who questioned the legendary Tyrone manager’s appointment in the first place.

"The murmurings around the appointment - should he have been there? - they're going to intensify now over the six weeks in Derry, you can be quite sure of that,” the 2012 Donegal All-Ireland SFC winning captain told the Second Captains podcast.

“Last weekend is going to really echo so, so strongly until that first game [of the All-Ireland series]. They're going to be seeded three, they're going to have to travel, in likelihood to Kerry or to Dublin again.

“Can they suffer another defeat? Can this team suffer another defeat...I'm not so sure they can within the Super 16 if they're to go on and win the All-Ireland.”
