Last night’s Antrim senior football championship clash between Naomh Eanna and St Gall’s saw one of the most bizarre goals scored in a long time.
Midway through the second-half in Glengormley, St Gall’s were made pay price for taking too long during the water break and the referee restarted the play whilst they were still making their way back on to the pitch.
That led to Naomh Eanna scoring the simplest of goals which can be seen below thanks to the live stream from Jerome Quinn Media, with the man himself asking after the ball hit the net; “are they going to allow this?”

Allow it they did as St Gall’s were made fight to the finish for the 1-12 to 1-9 victory to book their slot into the Antrim SFC quarter-finals against Roger Casements next Tuesday night.
The initial video of the glaring incident in the game received mixed reaction on social media, as the 40-second clip showed Naomh Eanna walking the ball into the net as their opponents chased back.
Antrim GAA later tweeted the below video which shows the entire water break before the ref resumed play.
