Replying To royalcounty1:  "All things considered, we realistically got a freak injection of quality young players over the last two to three seasons - Frayne, Rafferty, Caufield, Kinsella, and Duke/coffey at times. If we manage to add even one new genuine first-team player this season, that would be massive. That also could just be a fully fit jones or gray.

I expect a few new lads to make the bench - Charlie O'Connor, Kinlough, Martin, O'Connell,O'Connor, campion - but realistically, O'Connor/campion/kinlough( if fit) are the only ones I can see getting meaningful game time this year.

I think Duke's and Frayne's spots are definitely up for grabs. With a fully fit squad, there's real potential for one or even both of Jones and Flynn to feature in the forwards.

I don't see much change from 1 to 7 compared to last year. The midfield, though, could rotate week to week. I'd say one of Flynn or Menton starts every game, with Gray, McBride, and O'Neill rotating around them depending on form and opposition.
Forwards . In an ideal world, I'd see it as:

Jones, Kinsella, Costello(big hopes for kinlough) and think O'Connor is our super sub here

Full forward line is still Morris, Conlon, Frayne really. Although on club form Keith Curtis probably deserves to start.

What do we think, how will the team shape up ?"
Agree with all of that but think we'll see Jack O'Connor get decent game time as the season goes on. Also think there is a spot in the backs up for grabs. Wouldn't be surprised if we see someone being re-purposed from the forward ranks.

No conlon or jones for the weekend confirmed by Robbie. Good to see Eoghan Frayne get game time for Maynooth yesterday but didn't get on the scoresheet? Any word on captaincy?

Robbie literally said in his interview wen asked about him and jones that they haven't seen any pitch action just yet so will have to bide our time with them?

That's why you dont believe a word Robbie says, Conlon will probably come off the bench, Jones is still a good bit away.

Well to be fair its not his job to update opposition managers on who is available or not. Hearing his comments on the 2 new additions to the coaching team its hard not to be excited about the year ahead, not that the coaches didnt do a brilliant job last year but we will need to bring a bit extra this year as we are on the radar of all counties now. Really enjoyed watching the fast attacking style Skyrne showed over the last couple of years when Conor Scully was there and if Aaron Kiernan is half the coach he was a player our defensive structure should be a real strenght. Couple that with a manager in Robbie who knows how to win and a young exciting team, 2026 could be a year to remember.

Agree that Robbie doesn't have to reveal certain information but it would be nice as supporters to know a bit more with what's going on. Supporters don't even know who's on the final panel / development panel like. Also it's extremely difficult to get any information on challenge matches

Can't say I'm too familiar with Scully but he sounds promising. Hard to know with Kernan, was a class player and I love listening to him talk football but it didn't go well for him at Sligo last year. He was their backs coach and they had a very poor year.

Yes he mentioned a few younger lads have joined the panel this year while others are to continue with development squad. Anyone know what changes to panel have been made from last year?

A real gripe I have with the GAA is the complete lack of clarity around televised and streamed fixtures.

It shouldn't be this hard to find an official, reliable, chronological schedule of what games are being broadcast and where. Last year during the Super 8s it was the same story even with dates and venues - supporters trying to plan commitments, missing out on ticket bundles or discounts, all because information came out late or in bits and pieces.

Even now, I've seen conflicting articles on whether the Meath game is televised. That simply shouldn't happen.

The GAA needs to take ownership of this and be information-forward. One official source, updated consistently, promoted properly. At this point, it's basic supporter experience.

It's on tg4 app or website. Not sure if that will include a youtube link.

But you are 100% right. I only found out the other day it's on tg4 through a Facebook post.

I am sick of having to scroll through Twitter to find out the latest score of a match, or a list of games on TV etc. in the hope that someone in good faith has posted about it.

Well there you go. Thanks very much. I can't travel to the game so I might be able to catch on the phone. I would never have found that.

It's on Meath GAA on instagram. Robbie was right about James Conlon not ready so we won't see him or Jones. Interesting to see how this team gets on against Derry as it's nearly our best 15 on paper going from next year. Expect 4/5 changes come Championship football.

There will be changes to the team and squad that was released

Strong team and squad and can only imagine the other 10 including the likes of Jones, Conlon, Gray and Kinlough just to name a few will have a big say as the year goes on. Kinsella is obviously the biggest loss for this weekend.

Not always, but most of the time Score beo is good for telling you if the game is televised if you go into match info
