Replying To Fionn:  "Jeez RD - no point in Longford turning up to play ye, by the sounds of it on here... lol ;o)

Great to see you now have more confidence in COR and team progression btw - ;o)

Teasing you of course."
I did say in earlier post should we get over Longford. But all in all I think we should. They didn't feature in tailteann at all. Where we won. So if we have anything about us at all we should beat them. They have gone back a fair bit over last few years but still have a couple of lads that could cause problems. As every new year begins I'm full of confidence to a certain extent , I believe the team that is there now are the best we've had in over a decade. So that breathes new hope. I am also willing to give cor the benefit of the doubt that he has learned on the job and can improve, less of the Latin bs, and worrying what's been said on SG . He has one job and one job only. If he focuses on that and brings in these promised new coaches etc then we have a good chance of reaching out potential which this year imo is promotion and last 8. Perhaps a bit of silverware with div 2 who knows

Any word on new players added to the panel or lads being brought back who weren't there last year like Conor McGill?

Replying To Royal.Legend:  "The interesting thing about this is that if Meath beat Longford then the Meath Dublin game could be in Navan, Dublin have to play there leinster quarter finals away from home."
That would be great. We can get our backsides handed to us by them in Navan instead of Croker.

Does anybody know what Meath players are playing colleges football? I would imagine Gray, Frayne and Kinsella will be in and around the Maynooth Sigerson team. Kinlough and the Corbett's playing DCU freshers. Are Walsh and Costello still with DCU? Anybody with TUD or UCD freshers or Sigerson?

Rian McConnell from Castletown started midfield for UCD freshers in their win over the aforementioned DCU freshers last week. Top talent

He's one of the best young players in the county, have seen him play a few times and at 18/19 he was running the show. Needs to bulk up a bit but if we don't develop him, we're missing a trick. I believe he's a grandson of the great Kevin McConnell.

I'm not sure Frayne Is up to starting on the team just yet. I think Kinsella is worth a look in league

I see Trevor Giles is the new football coach for senior team. Has he been involved in coaching since his time with MOD?

Giles is added to COR backroom team.

Robbie Brennan in with Minor's.

Nice to see Trevor back involved with the senior team again. It's just the type of thing that happens in Dublin, with numerous former players in as coaches, and something I wondered why we never did.
Word is that there is a coach to come in to take Garrigan's role who is still involved with a team.

I'm reliably informed Donegal is away also

Division 2 is very very competitive, there's no easy games. Armagh and Donegal are rumoured to be confirmed away games, that's tough if so. Both of those would be probably the favourites to return to Div 1.

Hopefully we get 4 at home and 3 away - so would hazard a guess our home games will be Fermanagh, Cork, Kildare & Cavan. And We'll be away to Armagh, Donegal & Louth. Would definitely take that if was the case

From what I can make out these are our fixtures

28-1 Fermanagh (h)
3/4-2 Armagh (a)
17/18-2 __
24/25-2 __
2/3-3 Cavan (a)
17-3 Cork (h)
23/24-3 __

That leaves Kildare Louth and Donegal

Reversing last year
Kildare will be in Navan
Louth will be in a Louth venue
And Iv seen it said here by someone that Donegal will be an away game. You would imagine they would have us playing Louth or Kildare last for a derby game.

Meath v louth (obc) sat 6 jan. can't wait for county to be back. Optimism building. Please don't let my hopes be dashed. A good solid 24 is what we need.

"I know of no better life purpose than to perish in attempting the great and impossible. The fact that something seems impossible shouldn't be a reason to not pursue it. That's exactly what makes it worth pursuing, where would the courage and greatness be if success was certain and there was no risk. The only true failure is shrinking away from life's challenges."

Looking forward to the new year already my friend!
