Junior Championship 2020

A real JFC at last. Chronicle sprouting rubbish about how few 2nd teams won in the past but the problem was strong 2nd teams beat Junior teams in early rounds and lost when weakened later in the year. Field is leveler now

St Marys v Dunsany. Only 1 winner here and they wear Red

Drumconrath v Kilbride. Repeat clash from JBFC Round 1 2019 and similar result Kilbride to win 1st Junior A match in years.

Moynalty v St Vincents. Two of the best teams and I reckon Vincents to win.

Clonard v Carnaross. Clonard to take a pasting here from a youthful Ross

Boardsmill v Ballivor. Local derby but different class Maroon to win

Kilmainhamwood v St Brigids. Two poor sides but Kwood should triumph

Cortown v Slane; Cortown have hopes and Slane seem to have steadied but that they need to improve so that wont be enough. Cortown to a thumping victory !!!!!!

St Ultans v The Bye. Only one result here !!!

Dunsany vs Mary's : 1 sided game would expect a wide enough margin could be double figures
Drumconrath vs Kilbride: another 1 sided game drumcondrath are woeful Kilbride would want to be giving them a hiding if they fancy challenging this year
Moynalty vs St vincents: hear a few moynalty lads are out injured so would expect the vincents to win here
Clonard vs carnaross: clonard seem to have regressed in the last few years carnaross without getting out of 1st gear another 1 sided game
Ballivor vs boardsmill: similar to the majority of the games in junior way to much of a gap in class ballivor easily
Cortown vs slane: would fancy cortown here probly the closest game in junior this week.
The winner will come from the ballivor carnaross game the rest are way behind

St Marys v Kilbride. Only 1 winner here as Kilbride put themselves in with a shot of the KOs

Drumconrath v Dunsany. The only debate is whether Drumconrath, Marys or Clonard will loose by the most. Drumconrath could get that award this week as Dunsany saunter on

Moynalty v Slane. Slane had a good win last time while Moynalty are deflated with defeat this will be close but Moynalty may keep their faint hopes alive

Cortown v St Vincents. Cortown are all shapes and sizes but try hard and Vincents will know they had a game as they pull away to be as good as in the semis

Clonard v Ballivor Clonard will battle as Ballivor just nudged over Boardsmill will be close for awhile but Ballivor to pull away

Boardsmill v Carnaross. The Mill came up just short and so carnaross are warned. Really they didn't need to be and will win easy

Kilmainhamwood v St Ultans. Ultans make there bow and will tie up the Wood in Knots as the win easy

Seems there's going to be a lot of one sided game this weekend

Seen ballivor play at the weekend, alot of people hav them as one of the favourites,i don't think they are good enough to win it, they hav 3 very lively forwards but after that they are average imo,

Group A sorted as was expected with last Round show down between Dunsany and Kilbride... Hard one to call

Group B Similiar story with another hard to call game between Carnaross and Ballivor

Group C is as good as sorted as Vincents looks destined to top group but they have a bit of playing to do yet. If Slane could upset them but even so they would need Cortown to beat Moynalty to allow Slane through on head to head. Should Slane and Moynalty win Slane would need to win by 10. If that happened and Moynalty won by 12 Moynalty would slip through.
Enough of the rubbish Vincents to win

Group D last round show down between Ultans and Brigids

Odds on for a Ballivor v Vincents Final. Vincents got hard end of stick in 2018 when a few calls went against them could be bridemaids again

Shaping up like that alright but a lot will depend on Kildalkey Hurlers being fit for Ballivor , But overall if they are & they have the players and a successful management team on the line to win the Junior A this year

I have seen both Dunsany and Vincent's this year - I think Dunsany will do the job!

I hope so. Jaysus, they've been through the ringer in finals. 5 times they've been beaten in the final in 18 years.

I think I'm right in saying there the only club in meath not to win an adult championship

True I was told that Dunsany are the only club in Meath never to win a 1st team Championship at Adult grade so a win would be long over due. They have come out of a very weak group and it will be interesting to see how they cope with their 1st real challenge

Semi Final week ahead of us who has everyone got?

Vincent's & Dunsany tougher to predict of the two. Dunsany have been hitting big scores but haven't played any quality opposition and a hardened Vincent's team may be too shrewd for them. Wide pitch at HQ could work in Dunsanys favour. Winner will be hard bet.
Vincent's by 2.

Ballivor will go into this strong favourites after writing off Carnaross. If all hurlers are fit they should get over the semi final stage. Word around is young McBride could be back for Ultans which would be a massive boost.
Ballivor by 9.

anyone any idea who could be relegated from inter this year?

I think Dunsany and Balivor should have enough, should be two cracking games. Always find the junior provides great excitement. On another note does anyone know why the Premier is taking so long to wrap up?.
Some teams qualified for a final nearly a month ago and no fixture yet set? i know this is case in Colmcilles/Walt final.

Jaysus whoever comes down will be a seriously strong team in the Junior next year. would be some fall from grace for Pats or Balinlough

Wouldn't agree. There's at least four or five teams in junior equally as strong as Pats or Ballinlough or even stronger. Apart from Ballinabrackey and Trim, the intermediate is not strong. Clann na ngael and Moylagh were comfortable this year so that shows alot. The team that comes down from Senior will be a strong team next year as Senior has improved.
