Have you any proof of this, articles etc? Not doubting you, just be curious to read as he wasnt one of the attendees at the recent AFL combine in UCD. Liam Byrne and Jason Scully were only meath representatives

Don't think it was recently.

Not a great result but it doesn't really matter I suppose. Had the chances to win the game. But in the conditions you can't really judge any futre prospects or read too much into anything.

Of the the 2 teams named this weekend, tomorrow's team is alot stronger, not about results this time of the year

Only really came alive in second half, the conditions were horrendous. Had enough chances to win game. Still though it was played in extremely bad weather. Obviously put more focus on tomorrow game with the stronger team named for that one.

Have we any chance of qualifying out of this? We need a win and results to go our way I assume?

It is a bizarre format so all we have to do is beat Wexford and we go through

That's good news. Think I'll head down Saturday to the game, haven't seen us yet this season. I'd imagine the ground in Enniscorthy is fairly rustic, is there any sort of a stand at all?

Didn't actually realise the format until I saw this. Never seen anything like it - could only be done with a pre-season competition

Strange format where losing to Longford didn't really do us any disadvantage since Longford aren't in our group. Won't argue though

Didn't get to match today. However listening to it we did what was needed, however the conceding of goals to a poor enough forward line would be of concern, however it's only obc and we need to tighten it up.

I was at it today, our backs won it for us ,we where opened up once or twice but by and large we limited Wexford to pot shots and they forced a lot of there shots which in alot of cases ended up in wides for them. Wexford where not at the races today. Thomas Reilly was MOM for me looked really solid in everything we did. Mickey Newman was slow to get in to game but did well later on. Naill Kane did well again. Also I was really impressed with Eoin Lynch in never wasted the ball and was composed on the ball I never seen him before. This is the first time I seen he. The 3 pass rule. I like it might suit Meath, forces us to kick the past and perhaps use it better. Rather than hand passing the ball over back the 40 yard like like we seem love lately. But I dont think it will be kept for the League. Also you could hear the Players shouting second pass third pass etc. So they where self policing. Its early days but I like it. cant really take much from the game Wexford where poor enough today. But from a Meath prospective, alot new players game on and played well. I dont think anyone had really bad game. And just to mention Seamus Lavin aswell was really solid.

Sounds good. How did you feel campion and Kane did? Two players I was looking out for seem like good prospects. I'll be honest I swing from one to another with the 3 hand pass thing myself, was against it at first then after Laois game thought it added to game, then v longford changed again. I'll be honest very 50/50. I see merit to it but also drawbacks

Campion played well scored a couple of points. I cant really say that much more about him. Kane played more less the same as the last day against Dublin scored two nice points early on when we where really up to much and they where needed. He looks a threat going froward. He has a lot of hair and so dose Eoin Lynch, its going to get confusing when C'OS comes back there could be a lot hairy Meath fellas on the pitch. On a plus Mickey has cut his so that helps :)

Looking forward to Dublin v Meath on Saturday evening.

With most of the Dublin squad from last year still over in the Caribbean (not certain when they are back), no game time under the lads who are available's belt apart from a run out in the Sean Cox fundraiser in Navan a few weeks back, I expect Meath to prevail fairly comfortably here.

This is a no win game for us. Win and we were only playing the Dublin 3rd team. Lose and people will say that we are going nowhere.

I think Andy should continue to experiment and not play a full team. Play at least 5 of the new players to the squad and leave some of the established players on the bench.
