Galway native Brendan won a Meath IHC medal when Navan O'Mahonys got the better of Salesian College in the 1961 final. A Garda based in Navan at the time, he scored 3-4 in the 5-8 to 4-4 final victory. He also represented the Tribesmen at inter-county level.
