Cumann na mBunscol football: Day 1 results
Delight for St. Annes in the Boys Division 2/3 Shield final

Day 1 of the Meath Cumann na mBunscol football finals concluded this evening. As is the norm large crowds flocked to the immaculate Lomans Park Trim to take in six highly entertain ingredients games.

Goals were crucial as Carlanstown ended a 13 year wait for a Girls Division 4 title with 14 points to spare over Oristown in the first game of the day.

Nobber created history and claimed their first ever girls title at the expense of neighbours Kilmainhamwood.

More neighbours Kilskyre and Moylagh served up the game of the day in match number 3. The Moylagh girls looked to have won their first title since 2012 but an Erin McGuinness goal and a Naoise Lynch point earned Kilskyre a draw and a replay.

St. Annes, wearing the famed Hoops of Navan O’Mahony’s had to withstand a late St. Stephen’s fightback and pick up the Division 2/3 Shield title.

A five star display from Willow Harte proved crucial as Kilbride defeated St. Annes in the Girls Division 2/3 final in the penultimate game of the day.

St. Mary’s had too much firepower for Ard Rí Navan. Captained by Ellie May O’Neill the Enfield school led 1-5 to 0-2 at the break.
