Meath Under 20 manager Cathal O Bric

Cathal Ó Bric is set to remain as Meath U20 football manager for the 2027 season following a recommendation from the county's Football Development Committee.

The recommendation was outlined at Monday night's Meath County Committee meeting, where delegates were informed that Ó Bric has been proposed to continue in the role for another campaign.

Ó Bric has overseen the county's U20 footballers in recent seasons and, subject to ratification, will continue to guide the development of some of Meath's most promising young talent into 2027.

Meanwhile, Trevor Giles will not continue as manager of the Meath minor football team next year due to a potential conflict of interest, with his son expected to be in contention for a place on the county panel.

Giles has played a key role in the development of Meath's minor footballers and has been widely praised for his commitment to underage football in the county. However, it was confirmed that he will step away from the position ahead of the 2027 season.

The County Committee heard that discussions will now take place between the Football Development Committee and Giles regarding how he can remain involved in Meath football in another capacity.
