
After receiving a bye in round 1 Kildalkey’s second string took on Kilmessan on St Patrick’s morning in the Billy Byrne cup.
A strong Kildalkey team were wind assisted in the first half and hit the ground running and completely dominated to lead at the break by 2-21 to 0-2.
Although Kilmessan faired better in the second half and tagged on another 1-7 with the wind the damage was done by the hosts and Luke Rickard and Conor Barnwell added 2 more goals to seal the win.
The experienced half forward line contributed 3-11 of the total all from play which was significant while the younger players all played well in a great team performance.
The final score read Kildalkey 4-27 Kilmessan 1-9.
