
Castletown 3-15 Moynalvey 0-14
Castletown progressed to the Corn na Boinne final for the second year in a row with this 10 points victory over Moynalvey played in perfect conditions in Castletown on Monday night.
Castletown made the better start and with 10 minutes gone were 2-4 to 2 points up. Moynalvey then had a purple patch and hit back with two 2 pointers after that a point each was scored to leave it 2-5 to 0-7 at the break. Castletown first half scores came from Sean Mc Keown and Daniel Moran a goal a piece, Kevin Ross 0-2fs, a free from Rian Mc Connell and points from play one each for Darragh Weldon and Darragh Kelly.
Castletown had the better restart and added two quickfire points to go 6 points up. Rian McConnell scored Castletowns third goal on 44 minutes for them to go 8 points up and somewhat deflating any sort of Moynalvey comeback. Both sides then made many substitutions as this game was over as a contest. Castletown second half scorers were Rian McConnell 1-5 (2fs&1-2ptf) points from Sean Mc Keown, Daragh Weldon 0-2, Gerry Farrelly and Rian Monaghan to put Castletown through 3-15 to 0-14 to face St.Pats in the final.
