Round 2 of the Football Championship is underway.
Saturday August 16th
There was more late late drama with Na Fianna as a Jamie Queeney point after the hooter had sounded earned the Baconstown/Enfield/Rathmolyon outfit their second draw of the campaign. Goals from Thomas O’Reilly, Caolan Ward and Tom Gavigan set Wolfe Tones up for their second win. It was also win number 2 for Mick O’Dowd’s Skryne who had eight points to spare over Gaeil Colmcille at Dunganny while Ballinbrackey recovered from their opening round loss to Ratoath with a comprehensive win over St. Colmcilles.
Castletown provided the standout win in the Intermediate grade with a massive 21 points to spare over Duleek Bellewstown at Seneschalstown. Last year's semi finalists Ballivor are out of the race for the Mattie McDonnell Cup

Last year Trim fought back to beat Rathkenny by a point at Pairc Tailteann. The Town side repeated the same trick last night at Dunganny. Aaron Lynch kicked 11 points including the winner to seal a second victory for the reds.
Oldcastle proved too strong for Curraha at Pairc Tailteann. Goals from Oran Mulvanny, Lee Healy and a second half brace from Jason Scully paved the way for a comfortable win at Pairc Tailteann. Moynalvey recorded their second win in the Intermediate with eight points to spare over Walterstown. Mark O’Sullivan set them on the way for victory with a goal inside the opening two minutes.
