Trim was the venue on Wednesday night for the Division 1HL Final between old rivals Kildalkey and Kiltale. PHOTOS
Both teams were down a number of regulars and it was a good chance for other players to make their mark.
Kildalkey started well and had points on the board from Mattie Cully and Niall McNally before Evan Fitzgerald raced in for his first goal. A fine individual score from Cian Colhoun another from McNally Cully and Paddy Potterton along with a Conor Fitzgerald goal had kildalkey on 2-7 at the break to Kiltale's 3 points.
The second half started way quick 1-1 from Evan Fitzgerald to stretch the lead to 3-8 to 0-4 but Kiltale went on a bit of a run and hit the next few scores but another goal and a point from Niall McNally got his team going again .and goals win games.
Late points from Potterton, Cully and Fitzgerald wrapped up the game on a score line of Kildalkey 4-13 kiltale 0-11.
Youngsters Conor McNally, Tiernan Bird, Jamie Kavanagh and Cian Colhoun all played well in defence as did Martin Healy and Brin Kelly in the centre.
Paddy Potterton, Luke Rickard, Evan Fitzgerald and Niall McNally all had great games upfront.
Brin Kelly received the cup on behalf of his teammates from John Brennan.
This is a great boost with championship starting next week against Longwood.
