Galway Football thread - 2 Like(s)

Replying To shaggykev:  "Wow...just wow. Natural forwards??? Galway have the best batch of forwards in Ireland. In pure talent stakes, theyre up there with the forwards of Dublin in last decade. Walsh, Comer, Thompson, Finnerty and McDaid would walk into nearly every team in the country. The simple fact is youve been unlucky with injuries but also you seem to rely on moments of individual brilliance rather than a game and process suited to an overall system which lets each of these guys florish together. (easier said than done so I don't know if I'd be throwing PJ out without a better option. Looking at what Andy Moran has done in a short window with Monaghan shows what the right addition to backroom team could achieve. ) Ps your biggest challenge is sorting out GK. Thought years ago Tadhg O Malley was the closest Galway had to a modern keeper but PJ didn't take to him."
Don't agree think donegal and kerry ahead better forwards far too much complacency there. Galway do noy have a better forward line that Kerry in terms natural skill and number of players

Replying To S1234:  "That's the funniest thing I've heard all day . Cavan are a decent team but no way we will loose this one . Or maybe you are just hoping mayo loose . If cavan were playing kerry would you honestly say that they might cause an upset agent you ? Kerry are not that much better then mayo either. Mayo by 8."
Mayo arrogance here ? A lot great supporters but some like moan to say kerry aren't better than mayo or much better is deluded . Not from Kerry but this is deluded statement beyond belief and maybe give more consideration to it if you tip the group and beat Tyrone and Donegal

Replying To Scenicparish:  "Totally agree, David has to perform on the big days, to be considered amount the greats. In semifinals and finals he has struggled in Croke Park. He has plenty of time yet and I think the new rules certainly suits David and all the other quality forwards."
Struggled he won kerry semi vs derry and allireland 2022 he had bad game vs Dublin 2023 by his standards last year he just bit off all round wouldn't say doesn't perform at all that's ridiculous still multiple player of the year awarss

Ah here now this forum gone from been sport into culture wars and politics . What is actually wrong saying Brazilian guy was involved he was one of the first to point out that there good immigrants who contribute, some just want to use this for their own agenda against people. People entitled to the view but so are people entitle to refute it.

Replying To Fionn:  "And this is exactly why we have no time for ye lot.... As we say in Dublin - anyone but Kerry...! All your success and you are still not happy. This was a shadow of a Dublin team - the team of a few years ago would have won Sam no matter where they played. That was an exceptional team. Only Mayo were able to put it up to us - what was your excuse.... ****** in a row, inc 1 in an empty stadium. Go eat some more sour grapes now like a good boy....!"
Sound like some mayo supporters so dubs and mayo fans after a loss not so differnt after all maybe need reflect why lost instead blaming others and hating other successful counties. Of course nobody will be happy when you lose so you think a team can't be disappointed when they lose maybe that's what similar to county like dub successful. Dubs and kerry have great supporters and tradition in different ways but lord playing out as if dubs can't have unlikeable fans is delusional every county successful has some fans that are entitled dubs and kerry included nit always good thing but also not always a bad thing at a high level.

Replying To James73:  "Was speaking to one of clonkill management , Luke has had all clear scans and is on a road to full recovery, I don't think young gaffney is so lucky tho serious leg injury by all accounts, no room in the game for the tackle on Luke, hopefully it's dealt with appropriately, poor game overall but who ever gets clonkill with a full outfit should not take them for granted, a full strength Castletown team should have beaten that clonkill team by a lot more, but they showed good fight and heart even without their star players, raharneys championship to loose for me"
Ctg won't be far off yes should won by more let in a few poor goals Glad Luke OK mistimed and dangerous tackle but don't think the player who tackled meant to do that.

Replying To Claretandblue:  "Brilliant game, fantastic advertisement for the grade and the new rules, credit to Kenny Mc and his management who clearly focused on the competition after being beaten by Dubs, really good preparation for those lads as they prepare for adult inter county next year, in some cases this year's Tailteann cup based on displays. Seven championship matches is great grounding and to win a competition builds confidence and team spirit. Lots of players stood up, Jack Duncan, Tadhg Baker, Adam Keane, Finn Duffy's goal was vital, Ronan Murray's crucial two pointer, Shane Ormsby must be close to Dermot McCabe's thinking for TC involvement based on his displays for this side, he was immense last night, real leadership throughout. The likes of Gareth Mullanniff, Billy Moffet, Oisin Shortall, Seani Bracken will benefit greatly from this and their club sides will benefit too."
Shane corcoran was great too you left him out

Just have a look at the state England is in today, then maybe take a trip to eastern Europe and see the difference."
Maybe Western countries shouldn't invade cpuntries pr colonise or be involved wars then wouldn't have the issues.

Replying To Maroon Heaven:  "Just on the supporters thing - I've not missed a home game this year and I travel down from Belfast. I remember we played Louth in Drogheda under Tom Cribben and we were flying. That day you'd be hard pushed to notice Louth fans at that match while Westmeath had packed the Grandstand. Boidu was in his prime. Swings and roundabouts with support in all counties. Let's not throw the Baby out with the Bath water. Good luck to both teams this year. It isn't easy having a county operating at both codes to a high level."
It's fair point by you but also by others shows there are little genuine supporters or less than think westmeath aren't I lowest division they ate doing well competitively no reason why crowd couldn't be up
