While many county championships are already done and dusted, the Limerick SFC has only reached the knockout stages.
In the quarter-finals, which are scheduled for October 25, Monaleen will meet Mungret St Paul’s and Fr Casey’s will face St Kieran’s. Holders Adare and Newcastle West have qualified directly for the semi-finals as group winners.
In last weekend’s final round of group matches, Adare made it five wins from five in Group 1 with a 0-17 to 0-13 victory over Monaleen. In the same group, Fr Casey’s overcame Na Piarsaigh by 1-17 to 1-14, while Rathkeale retained their senior status with a 1-15 to 0-16 defeat of Oola.
In Group 2, recently-retired county star Iain Corbett bagged 2-6 for Newcastle West in a facile 3-20 to 0-7 victory over Ballylanders. Galtee Gaels beat Kildimo-Pallaskenry 1-15 to 0-9, while Mungret St Paul’s accounted for St Kieran’s by 3-12 to 0-7.
The relegation semi-final pairings are Oola v Ballylanders and Kildimo-Pallaskenry v Na Piarsaigh.
