Yesterday’s Kerry senior hurling championship final on TG4 saw a live referee microphone used for the first time.

Limerick man John O’Halloran took charge of the decider between Causeway and Ballyduff at Austin Stack Park in Tralee, where the former emerged victorious on a 2-15 to 0-16 score-line.

Viewers watching the match live on GAA Beo could hear the rationale and reasoning that led to O’Halloran’s decisions on the pitch.

Needless to say, TG4′s latest innovation came in for some rave reviews as it also shared several clips from the game on social media.
