Mayo have made a request to the CCCC (Central Competitions Control Committee) not to fix their neutral All-Ireland SFC group game against Dublin for Croke Park.

According to the Mayo News, Mayo chairman Seamus Tuohy informed delegates of the request at Wednesday night’s county board meeting. The game is due to played on the weekend of June 15/16, and could yet take place at Hyde Park, Tullamore or Portlaoise. The TUS Gaelic Grounds in Limerick has also been mentioned as a possible venue.

The request comes after former Mayo star Lee Keegan called for the clash to be taken out of Croke Park on the basis that it has been devoid of atmosphere for recent Dublin games. It’s understood the GAA do not intent holding any All-Ireland SFC group phase Round 3 matches at GAA headquarters.
