Replying To giveitlong:  "Yes, he took some punishment there today and kept going from start to finish. The loss of Flynn again was a factor, we could not win our own kickouts and it remains the weakest part of our game. Shane Walsh was, as for his club, absent for 90% of the time. Sean Kelly did well enough, but the Dubs are just so good and do what ever has to be done. No goal chance again today is a worry. Without both Comer and Steed we have it all to do v Mayo or Roscommon. Burke was a bit dissapointing again today. Nevertheless a big improvment from a week ago but much more penatration needed."
Can't understand how someone can pick out Shane Walsh saying he was absent for 90% on game when he only played 50%. Also give the lad a break, he's only back from injury. Agree with you about no goal chance. Also gave away two. One of them sloppy but overall a better performance.

We are obsessed on here with checking about comers injury when in reality he hasn't played well for Galway since 2018, he played poorly in connaught final that year and scored goal against Dubs game after when we never looked like winning the game. We have had plenty of players with injuries since then that have come back and looked great. If reports are that he won't make connaught final we will have to just get on with it, both varley and finnerty far more important to this team now.

He's tidy on the ball but in all fairness in terms of marking he was absolutely taken to the cleaners. Not the answer

Shane Walsh is literally back from an injury and played half a game today. He scored an absolutley beautiful point too, that only he would be capable of getting. A soft pitch in late October isn't the best for getting a run on lads, but the minutes will do him good. A better performance today and a lot more effort, but the Dubs weren't anywhere near full throttle. There were some very poor kickpasses at times today, which cost us good opportunities. We need to get a lot sharper.

If we beat Sligo??? Christ great optimism here! We improved immeasurably today from our hiding. Joyce likely to hold off on showing his full hand until the final.

Some hope after last week's debacle. Power was solid and had no chance with goals. Kelly and Mulkerrins very good additions from last week. Foley looks a good player but not corner back imo. Campbell be a better fit there if needed if Foley out the pitch. . Half backline did ok but nothing outstanding, McDaid on form will come back in. Flynn was a loss going off, the two lads did ok but really need Flynn. Pity Steede is injured as him and Flynn are a nice pairing. Young Kelly very good until he tired then he coughed up one or two crucial ones. Conroy best player on the pitch. Leonard did better than last week and was marking a good player. I'd give him another chance as he is a natural 12 and we have a few to coming hoping we beat Sligo. Finnerty not great today but had a great league and will start championship. Varley very solid I thought. Ian Burke is a class footballer but seems to be struggling for confidence so he probably won't start. Guess at a team for Sligo if I was picking it: Power, S Kelly,Mulkerrins,Heaney, Silke, O Donnell, McDaid, Flynn, DArcy, Brannigan, Conroy, Leonard, Finnerty, Varley, S Wash. If you got Comer and Steede back for Connacht Final and hope that Mike Daly and Burke play into some kind of form the forwards and midfield options(a few options there like O Curtain, Barrett, Maher etc) look decent with lads like Sice, Dessie Conneelly and E Finnerty also options. Half back line seriously missing J Daly though, need to find something there badly

Better performance than last week, although that wouldn't be hard. Power/Mulkerrins was a big improvement on SAOC/Gleeson, still disappointing performances from Silke and Heaney, Pj has been very loyal to both, really need to up it if they start against Sligo, we lost the game at midfield IMO, Darcy has had two poor enough games and we are simply not winning enough ball from kickouts, although I thought flynn was quiet he was missed when he went off, conroy was my man of the match, excellent again today and has been all year, was surprised kilkenny got it and I think he said as much himself. Was Finnerty injured or just replaced? Thought he was doing ok in first half, burke still not firing unfortunately. Varley did ok inside, walsh scored a lovely point but then went quiet for rest of game. There are one or two certs to start against Sligo but plenty of places up for grabs

Paul Conroy always a good player but hes in the form of his life for his club and thankfully hes brought that form to intercounty.

Power's kicking is better than Gleeson but too many of our kickouts seem to end in 50/50 balls. We need to find a way to win handier ball from our own kickouts. Sean Kelly was good. Mulkerrin kept Con quiet until injury time. I thought Foley struggled though. He conceded quite a few frees and his man, Paddy Small, was on fire. Not all Foley's fault though. I'm not sure he's a corner back though. Fair play for Conroy. One of the few leaders in the squad. Attacking wise we didn't really threaten to score a goal all game. Flynn looks like he's carrying knock at the moment. Had to go off. We're actually in trouble in midfield a bit between injuries and absences.

Ya. Nice to see a different free taker to release the pressure of Walsh. Fantastic game from Conroy. A lot more aggressive from Galway today. I know they had nothing to play for today but pride and in fairness they showed that. The changes made worked, so now lads need to fight for that jersey which is what any manager wants

Power kick outs way better Sean Kelly and Mulkerrin a big lift in the full back line, Foley looked ok too, had a baptism of fire with his first county game v Paddy Small For Silke, get him to man mark, that is his strength Flynn is off the boil in midfield, Darcy had moments Paul Conroy head and shoulders above all in the forwards, great leadership by him, Varley also to get position and possession and distribute I would love to see E Finnerty in the FFL Still a massive step up on last week Two soft goals also given away
