A strong second-half comeback by St Loman's has seen the holders qualify for an eighth successive Westmeath SFC final - and within touching distance of a three-in-a-row.

The Lakepoint Park outfit came from five points down at the break to win by 0-15 to 1-9 against Killucan at TEG Cusack Park yesterday.

Following their surprise quarter-final victory over neighbours Coralstown-Kinnegad, it looked as though another upset could be on the cards when Killucan raced into a 0-0 to 1-2 lead with 18 minutes played.

The rank outsiders still led by 1-4 to 0-2 at half-time but, with John Heslin and Shane Dempsey leading by example, St Loman's scored ten unanswered points to come through a stern test.

Section A winners The Downs will meet, top-placed in Section B, Tyrrellspass, in the other semi-final today.
