Armagh and Galway are considering their next moves after the GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) handed down punishments last night following last Sunday’s melee at Croke Park.

It’s believed that both camps have been informed of player suspensions resulting from three cards dished out by referee David Coldrick during the fiery All-Ireland SFC quarter-final clash, which Galway won after a penalty shoot-out.

It’s widely expected that Armagh’s Tiernan Kelly could be facing a considerable ban for his part in the brawl which took place along the sideline after the full-time whistle at Croker.

All in all, three players were issued red cards – Galway's Sean Kelly and Armagh’s Greg McCabe and Aidan Nugent – and it’s likely that all three will have received proposed one-match suspensions.

Both teams will have three days to either accept the punishments or seek hearings and, with Galway set to face Derry in the All-Ireland SFC semi-final on Saturday week, it is believed that their captain Kelly could have as appeal heard as early as tonight (Friday).
