Tipperary hurling manager Liam Cahill has drafted U20 ace Paddy McCormack into his squad ahead of this weekend’s All-Ireland SHC preliminary quarter-final against Laois.
McCormack was outstanding in Tipp’s All-Ireland U20HC final triumph over Kilkenny two weeks’ ago, netting two goals against the Cats at Nowlan Park as Brendan Cummins’ side secured their county’s 12th James Nowlan Cup success.
The Premier forward now joins fellow U20 stars Darragh McCarthy, Sam O’Farrell, Oisin O’Donoghue, Aaron O’Halloran and Conor Martin in Cahill’s squad as they look to mount a run in the All-Ireland SHC series.
This Saturday sees the Premier men travelling to Portlaoise to face Joe McDonagh Cup runners up Laois (1.45pm) for a place in the last eight of the Liam MacCarthy Cup race.
