Long-serving Cavan defender Killian ‘The Gunner’ Brady has announced his inter-county retirement.
The Mullahoran clubman made a whopping 121 appearances in a 13-year senior career, the highlight of which was winning an Ulster SFC title in 2020. He also claimed Allianz League Division 4 and 3 medals in 2022 and ’23 as the Breffni County climbed back up the ranks.
In addition, he won Ulster U21FC and Hasting Cup honours in 2012.
Wishing him well on his retirement, Cavan GAA said: “The Gunner's Legacy: That nickname says it all - a tough, no-nonsense defender who never took a backward step. His 0-06 scoring record reflects his defensive role, but those crucial points came when Cavan needed them most.
“Brady's career perfectly captures Cavan's journey over the past decade - from rebuilding through the divisions to that magical Ulster triumph in 2020.
“Slán, Gunner! Thank you for every tackle, every block, every moment you wore the jersey with pride. Enjoy the well-earned retirement with family and friends!
“All in Cavan County Board wish you and your family the very best and thanks again for the commitment to Cavan GAA”.
