Cavan boss Mickey Graham says Monaghan will be on a revenge mission against his side this weekend.
Graham’s charges make the short trip to Clones tomorrow looking for back-to-back wins over the Farney men in the Ulster SFC, having ended their 18-year wait for a championship victory against their neighbours in May of last year.
Monaghan are 1/3 favourites for tomorrow’s derby clash at St Tiernach’s Park (throw-in 1.15pm) and justifiably so, according to Graham.
"They have made no secret of it for the last number of months since the draw was made that this is the game they were focusing on," he told Sky Sports.
"Even during the course of the League, the players have come out and said they were disappointed with the performance last year. They wanted to correct that this year.
“They've been targeting this from the word go. So, we have to be really on our game if we're going to keep the game tight.
"This is definitely a game they have targeted, no more than ourselves as well. But if you're looking at the form book at the current time, you'd say Monaghan will be strongly fancied for this one."Tweet
