Whats the forum opinion on the current Ramor United Manager Michael McDermott who previously was the Manager of Clare and brought Kilmurry Ibrickane to the All Ireland Club Final in 2010?

Is he with Ramor? I thought he was with Butlersbridge for some reason. He crossed my mind but I see from the betting he's not in there.

Haven't been following how Ramor have done under him, but he made a serious outfit out of that Kilmurry team. Would have no issue at all with someone like him taking the reigns.

On another note - Hyland's interview in the Irish News today is a mark of the man. Very professional and humble.

Well due process has happened and of course we can all look to the future and different managers, but does anyone get the feeling of "Oh S**t'"...

Cant but admire the man for what he has done. Even willing to change structures and methods half way through and for those that think he had favourites..Dam f**king right he had and that's called a team..

Can't understand this Pete McGrath talk, there is a new though needed as the old methods and current ones definitely wont work. Our game has changed beyond belief and our new manager will have to too..

Banty Mc Eneaney would be a step back for cavan, over hyped. Cavan need a winner, there is good options out there.
dinky mc bride, James Horan, Mickey Donnelly, Joe Kernan, John Mc Entee & Oisin Mc Conville surely will be considered. Hyland had to go, his championship graph this past few years didnt go upwards in any way.

I'd like to see mconville and mcentee but it'd be very hard to entice them, they love cross and prob wouldn't leave it for any job in the country.
I'd have no issue with Peter Reilly being involved but not as manager.
I really think Pat Gilroy's recent success with modern tactics make him the ideal candidate. Money the big issue tho."
Mc Conville and Mc Entee are no longer with cross

We would love Terry here in leitrim to try and sort out the mess that were in. Seems like a nice guy that has done a very good job with Cavan at both senior and underage.

I don't want Oisin McConville anywhere near the Cavan team.
If it's an outsider then the only one who should get a shot at it is Peter Donnelly.

I am sure when he re-charges his batteries he might take up your offer.

Lads, I have another left field suggestion for manager - an outside man, but with good pedigree as a player and manager - Paul Curran. Cavan I think would be perfect county for him, he took Ballymun when they were at a similar level - on an upward trajectory to an All Ireland final and also won a Roscommon title with a young up and coming Clann na Gael outfit in his first year. I think he would bring a new freshness to things and with support of local selectors could be an inspired choice. I think he may be holding out for the Dublin job - but Gavin doesn't seem to be leaving that any time soon.

I remember Meath people calling for Sean Boylan to step down and they got there way. A few Managers later and they wanted him back.
I have a funny feeling we will be doing the same with Terry.

Don't think Donnelly has managed anyone, might be a good trainer ,lot more to deal with as a manager.

Pillar Caffrey has Cavan links he would be worth trying. Curran not a bad shout either.

Are you for real? Hyland bar 2013 endured poor poor championships' with cavan. He cost cavan some big games, the decision to man mark mc manus with flanagan in 2015 was weak

Terry done great work over the last few years for us, and no doubt we will see him again probably in the opposite dug out one day which he deserves,
I know its early days about who is taking over but with the champship kicking off next week, its important that new selectors can see all players on offer, and they are selected by there form over the championship games and not a few games during the mckenna cup next january.would like to see a manager with at least provinal winning creditles as no matter how much the game changes you can never change winners and this young cavan team needs exactly that

Agree and post should be filled as quickly as possible to let the new man see what's about. Thanks Terry for all you've done

For the record....Terry did not stand down or walk away.....his contract had simply come to an end. The man was nearly 5 years in charge of the County Team, and only managed to win TWO Ulster Senior Championship matches, one of them was against an appalling and one of the worst Armagh Team's this year. Now, if some people on this forum think that Hyland's tenure was successful and he left some sort of legacy, then its a sad day for Cavan Football....only 2 Ulster Championship wins in nearly 5 years. Yeah he got us promoted twice, but realistically, who really takes the league seriously.
Why the did the man have to go on RTE Radio to announce the news, why didn't he announce it on Northern Sound, a local radio that has supported Cavan Football through the years. - did he really think that anyone outside the boundaries of Cavan would actually care?
