Games on Friday night round 4 . Castlerahan to beat Ramor by 3 , Coothill to beat Ballinagh by a few. Kingscourt to beat Mullahoran by a few . Cavan gaels to hammer Ballyhaise . And Lacken to get the result over an under strength Lavey . Great games so far .What does other people think . What players are standing out .

Canavan gone to Fulham Irish so yet another false story for you gaelstud. Heard manager gone all right. Nelligan on side line for last couple games.

Sorry about that.Canavan met with the Gaels down in Monaghan.after an intense meeting he informed the chairman that he would be returning because he was guaranteed full backing.he is now gone to Fulham Gaels along with his trainer.big loss for the Gaels but i'm sure they will find someone else.

Couple of quick points.

I think it's ridiculous some clubs are charging in 8euro to a glorified friendly lacking any intensity in the Breffni league.

Also whose bright idea was it to play junior b games after Breffni league games when clubs will be missing players. I see at the weekend most were given as walkovers. Not fair on junior b players.

Massive game for Ballinagh and the Gaels on Sunday next. If Ballinagh win, The Gaels are down and Lavey and Lacken will play for the other relegation spot. If Gaels win, Lavey are down and Ballinagh and Lacken play for other spot, unless Gaels win by more than 15 points which is highly unlikely. A draw will see the two teams playing again with the loser relegated along with Lavey.

Cavan_Ned how do you figure that one ? The Gaels are 3rd bottom from the table therefore IF they lose they would play lacken in a relegation play off.

I think Cavan_Ned is correct. If Cavan Gaels lose they finish level on 7 points with Lavey but would be bottom and relegated, on basis of head to head game which Lavey won earlier in league.

I see Arva are on their way up with 3 successive promotions. Some form it has to be said but not sure they will live with the heat in the main kitchen. Good young team nontheless. Any news onn who is relegated after the weekend?

The last league games should of been played before the championships Players don't wanna play games after being knocked out of the championship it will be the end of November before it's all sorted and then they get a few weeks off and then have to go out and train again STUPID!!!

Not ideal to play final round of League after the Championship. The last round was 2 months ago but might be a help for the 3 Clubs in Ulster to have a competitive game..Kingscourt had to win last weekend in the League in order to avoid a Relegation scenario.

they should change the system to 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw. The table would then look like this.
Ramor ............+23....15
Castlerahan...+13....15
Cootehill..........-3.....15
Kingscourt.......+1.....14
Lacken............+15....12
Mullahoran.....+2.....12
Ballyhaise........-8.....12
Cavan Gaels...-7.....10
Lavey..............-25....10
Ballinagh........-11.....9

S Golderick..... Why should they change it? I know we copying soccer as a non contact sport but we don't need their points system. Ours is fine. Let's start playing some attacking football and maybe getting 2 points here and there st county level. As for club scene it's disgraceful that it's coming up to November and he haven't finished a 9 game league programme. We are out of the All Ireland series 4 months. The emphasis has to be on club football when the election of officers and committees take place at this years convention otherwise we won't have a county team. The championship needs restructuring and the league needs to run concurrent to the championship with local club football over by October1st to give the 3 winners time to prepare for Ulster and to give other players a break until January.

Good idea sogoldrick. Why not reward a win with three points? Is the fact that another sport uses it a good enough reason not to? With only two points for a win it increases the chances of teams finishing closer together which increases the chances of playoffs in an already congested schedule.

It'll most likely not happen due to the very poor reason I mentioned above.

I would agree with sgoldrick aswell actually. A win deserves 2 points more than a draw but I don't think this will ever happen.

On a 10 teams league 3 points although rewarding for a win could quickly create a gap between winning and losing thus make the league a bigger farce than it already is. For instance there could be 8/9 point difference between teams after 3 games.,having 2 points for a win keeps things tight as they are at the moment . The only way 3 points for a win would work is to increase the league to about 15/16 teams .

Kingcourt played more games in the Championship this year (10 games) then in the actual ACFL League. Along with 9 Breffni League games. That is 28 games. Fairly drawn out year. Not finished for them yet, League play off with Castlerahan again, and Ulster Club.
