The sudden death at her residence of Mrs Gretta Leddy from Ardleny caused deep shock and sadness in the local community. The epitome of a family woman, Gretta loved gaelic football and was extremely proud of the achievements of her daughter Catriona with the Lacken and Cavan ladies teams. Her sons Daniel and Pauric have also given wonderful service to Lacken football club. Gretta never missed a game and was always on hand to urge the Celtics onwards and upwards. Members of Lacken GFC provided a Guard of Honour at the removal to St Patrick's Church, Aughaloora.
