Noel, a native of Mullagh, died in February at St Colmcille's Nursing Home in Kells. He had been a keen sports man, playing with both Mullagh and Cross with whom he won six championship medals. Noel also hurled for Stradone, picking up another medal, and became a retired member of the Mullagh Moynalty Gun Club. He passed away at 89 years of age.
