There was great sadness in Shercock and beyond on Monday, August 28th, 2017 as word emerged that Peadar Burns, Church Street had passed away. Running The Federal Stores, Peadar and his family made an enormous contribution to the local community over the years. As an accomplished footballer, Peadar represented Shercock with distinction and was good enough to line out for the Cavan senior team. He was also an excellent cyclist. Members of Shercock GFC, Shercock Bowls Club, Nuremore Golf Society and Sillan Golf Society came together to form a Guard of Honour.
