Feeley, Eddie


Eddie Feeley of Stranamorth, Blacklion was a former chairman of Cavan County Council. He was deeply involved in all community activities and was a founder member of the Shannon Gaels GAA club. Eddie served extensively on the club committee, including a long spell as chairman from 1981 until 1992. He was also honorary president. As County Council chairman in 1997, Eddie had the task of organising the county senior footballers' homecoming with the Anglo Celt Cup after the Breffni Blues regained the Ulster SFC for the first time since 1969. GAA dignitaries from near and far came to pay their respects at the funeral mass on October 31st, 2016, with Shannon Gaels amongst those who formed a Guard of Honour.
