Cork forward Seamus Harnedy hailed the “serious character” shown by the Rebels in the latter stages of yesterday evening’s Munster SHC victory over Limerick.
Patrick Horgan’s penalty in injury-time steered the Leesiders to a thrilling 3-28 to 3-26 win at Pairc Ui Chaoimh which keeps their championship hopes for this season alive heading into the southern province’s final round of games.
"We needed that, our year was on the line," Harnedy told RTE Sport afterwards.
"We showed serious character towards the end. We looked dead and buried when we went four points down. We showed character, that's all you want. We went to the well; I'm over the moon.
"Everything is on the line in Thurles next week. We gave ourselves a lifeline, that was unbelievable heart and determination."
In praising team manager Pat Ryan, he added: "He has given a huge amount, brought a lot of these lads to U20 All-Irelands and it's unbelievable to get the result. We have to enjoy it for a few minutes and then go back to the well, get back training and on to next week."
