Mark Doran has been named as the new Antrim senior football manager, replacing the departed Andy McEntee.

A native of Longstone, Doran was involved as a coach with Davy Burke in Roscommon this year, having previously held coaching roles with Down, Clare and Wicklow. He also co-managed Ballybay to a Monaghan SFC title in 2022. Doran is currently in charge of Slaughtneil and will remain with them until their involvement in this year's Derry SFC ends.

In a statement issued last night, Antrim GAA chairman Seamus McMullan said the county's new football boss brings a wealth of experience to the role.

"Mark has built a solid reputation as a coach and manager. His depth of experience and understanding of the modern game make him an ideal fit to lead our Senior Footballers forward.

“We wish Mark and the panel the very best and look forward to the 2026 season”.

Former Louth, Westmeath and Wicklow manager Colin Kelly, St Brigid’s boss Anthony McGrath and Ulster University’s 2024 Sigerson Cup winning manager Barry Dillon were also believed to be interviewed for the post.
