Casement Park - 2 Like(s)
This is a massive development for all the Gaels of Antrim GAA. Our young people will have a place to aspire to play our great games, and this will drive the aspirations of every club and consequently the county teams forward. We will have our identity back and whilst Corrigan has and continues to serve the county well, we can now look forward to the day we pack out Casement Park again.

Croke Park assured counties of the games being in Croke Park is the issue at the semi final stage so going back on that now would undermine the comp. In its first year I guess they need to stick to regulation and try and fix next year. No doubt smaller venues for these semi final games would be better to give the matches an atmosphere

The players will definitely want to play in Croke Park. I think the argument of the smaller stadium and atmosphere is more for the Sam Maguire qualifiers. Reason being those teams have more than likely had their day at Croke Park over the last few years. The division 3 and 4 players have in the main not step foot in there in recent years so this opportunity is one which would never have been realistic before. I saw first hand the joy it brought the Antrim hurlers and supporters at the weekend and only 20% capacity at most.
