Portumna mourns Josephine Canning

Portumna GAA is mourning the death of Josephine Canning, mother of Galway hurling legends Joe and Ollie Canning.
Late of Coolnageera, Portumna, Co. Galway, Mrs Canning passed away on Wednesday following a brave battle with cancer, with her beloved family at her side.
She is survived by her husband Sean, sons Seamus, Francis, David, Ollie, Ivan and Joe and daughter Deirdre.
Reposing this evening from 4pm to 7pm in the new funeral home, Portumna Retirement Village (H53 AY18), the funeral mass will take place tomorrow morning at 11am in St Brigid's Church, Portumna (H53 KF51). Burial afterwards in Calvary Cemetery, Portumna.
A passionate supporter of Portumna and Galway, Josephine took immense pride in the sporting achievements of her exceptionally talented hurling sons while her daughter Deirdre was an accomplished camogie player.
May she rest in peace.
