Cork recorded their second win in Division 1 Group A of the Allianz Hurling League with a 5-28 to 0-16 thrashing of Offaly at Glenisk O’Connor Park this afternoon.
Alan Connolly struck a hat-trick of goals for the Rebels while Brian Hayes and Darragh Fitzgibbon also found the home side’s net late on to help complete the 27-point rout that marks Offaly’s third loss.
Connolly hammered in his side’s first goal on 19 minutes and added another in the run up to half-time to leave it at 2-12 to 0-8 when the teams went in.
Declan Dalton (0-7) and David Nally exchanged frees after the break and come the 53rd minute the game would be firmly put to be with the completion of Connolly’s hat-trick.
