Seanie Cahalane has been appointed manager of Cork and Munster club football champions Castlehaven for 2024.
The 2012 and ’13 Cork SFC winning captain steps up from the role of selector to succeed James McCarthy, who spent four seasons at the helm. In his first season – 2020 – ‘Haven lost the county final to Nemo Rangers, but avenged that last year before going on to beat Dingle in a dramatic Munster Club final which was decided on penalties.
Last month’s All-Ireland Club SFC semi-final defeat to St Brigid’s was McCarthy’s final game in charge.
Cahalane’s backroom team includes Gavin Gallagher, Anthony Seymour and outgoing selector Enda Buckley.
