Gowna GFC

New Sponsor

Gowna GFC are delighted to announce that Paddy Walsh Floor Screeding is their new sponsor for 2018. Paddy runs his business from Aughnacliffe, Co. Longford, which specialises in cement & sand flooring and screeding for underfloor heating. With Paddy's support, the club looks forward to great days ahead. 

The club would like to thank Whites Bar and Quikpick supermarket for their sponsorship over the last number of years.

Lotto 

Last week's draw on the 5th February was held in the Pikers Lodge. The jackpot stood at €10,100 and there was no winner. Numbers drawn were 2, 10, 15, 27.

 5 x €20 winners were Laura Hourican, Desmond Coyle, Peter Murtagh, Pauline Farrell and Nellie Gormley. 

Junior Scor Final

The club wishes Cian Murray the best of luck as he bids for glory in the All-Ireland Junior Scor Final in Sligo on Saturday 17th February. Cian is representing Ulster in the Solo Singing section. He is singing the "The Parting Glass" and I am sure he will do his family and club proud.

We also wish the best of luck to our neighbouring club Cornafean with the ballad group and quiz team.

Match News

Our U17's have yet to get their league campaign under way, having fallen foul of the bad weather for their two opening matches.

We wish our club players David Philips, Conor Madden and Conor Brady the best of luck in their Allianz League games with Cavan

Condolences

The club would like to extend its sympathies to former player and current committee member Peter Sheils on the death of his uncle Peter Sheils in Dublin, formerly of Gowna.

Gowna Ladies AGM was held on the 27th January. Committee for 2018 as follows: Chairperson: Madge Fitzpatrick, Secretary: Marian Harton, Assistant Secretary: Teresa Halton, Treasurer: Philomena Pierson, Assistant Treasurer: Peggy Halton, Childrens Officer: Yvonne Madden, PRO:Niamh Fitzpatrick, Registration Officer: Aine OReilly. 

Senior Ladies 

The ladies defeated Lacken in Round 1 of the Div.1 9 a-side league on Sunday the 4th of February. 

Final Score: Gowna:5.13 Lacken:3.9.

Fundraiser

 

The club took part in the Cash for Clubs 50/50 Cash Deal in The Clutterbugs Shop, Arva on Saturday the 10th February. Thank you to Michael and Jana and to everyone who supported it.

 

Registration
