Were we even any good?

I just wonder were we very good or were Armagh just very poor. I dont know. Standing looking at Armagh, Cavan made them look very ordinary. But having said that if the penalty went in Armagh may have been different. We are in the next round and hope more support will come along to see us the next time. Roll on!

I'll agree the support was terrible there was 10xtimes the more armagh supporters there and many more down the town for the game was poor to see,

Decent First half when we pressured there kick outs but in the last 10 and the second half when we let them have possession from their own kickouts we let them build and left our defence under pressure a bit,

I'd say we'd be the best team in the qualifiers when we land in them but let's be honest Footballs quality isn't where it used to be...even with all its professional advances in recent years

Should rename this 'the genius thread' a place for truly insightful perceptive trading of ideas and informed opinions.........better get on to admin to get the spell checker working again though

so according to dr Phil, there were about 1,400 cavan supporters and 14,000 armagh supporters. insightful indeed !

I agree support was poor for a Cavan team that has done us proud
Promoted 3 years on the trot and now banished Armagh .
a full section of the stand where a big Tyre companys sign is away down on the lower section had not a single spectator in it
What has Cavan senior team to do to get youse out.
I just dont know the answer to this one
Do you ?????

Could be the Rally that was on?
Fans staying away cause the big ego is back?
Bruce Springsteen was on as well?
Support has been on the decline for past 15 years or so anyway so no major shock. A bit of silverware always jumps up attendances.

support was poor, but more surprising was the crowds atmosphere , we seemed afraid to get on our feet to rally them on, maybe we are so used to things not going our way that we lacked belief,we the surporters will have to improve 100% in clones and roar the house down,
really looking forward to tyrone game as tyrone are quietly aiming for sam this term, this game will show where we are at, and although i think on a very good day with us getting a bit of luck we could surprise some people, but on another note , either way its not the end of the world to lose this one as maybe 3/4 back door games would get a starting 15 listed and make us stronger

I just wonder why you duplicate your postings which contain some interesting discussion< I do not like your line about 3 or 4 games in the backdoor league. I feel to display such sentiments shows a lack of faith in our Senior team . For spectators to display alack of faith seeps on to the panel. While we do have some wonderful footballers like David Givney Mc Kiernan and Seanie the senior team need support not negative vibes

keyboard error for duplicate posting, one thing for sure cavan supporters ,we have faith thats what kept us going to matches the last few years in all weather to watch football beened played best describled by joe brolly,
Tyrone players have said that cavan in both there games has been there hardest oppenents yet, and i truly believe if we play to our ability and get the rub ,we can beat them,we have a strong panel, some positions not fully nailed down yet, so my comment about the back door is purely tyrone has a cuple of years on us building wise, as this is our first year of playing attacking football, there are 2 roads which lead to sam,if it is a thing which i hope is not, that we have to take the long route, well with more games under our belt it could be a great positive learning curve of how to close out games and kill teams off, what makes great teams in any sport is there ability to rise stronger and wiser after a knockdown

While I have sympathy for people with poor Key Boards skills, I feel your explanation for duplication is sheepish to say the least. Back to matter under discussion I feel Cavan Senior football team in General and Terence Hyland needs out support.
Support can be displayed by vociferous applause, presence at Games and a show of Blue colour

I have refrained for a solid month in offering you any reply and just wondering are you pro Cavan or one of the lads that come in to Cavan and look at the Eur------an championship on a match day.
Either way send it home things have moved on int he last 30 days and the more I see things I feel I am away before my time in seeking support (none from you) for my Divisional teams in Cavan to unearth new talent. In the Tyrone game once big David (my find) went off we fell apart . We must have footballers in Cavan to come in to the panel big fielders to support Mc Kiernan up front.

As a celebrated talent scout, if Cavan management utilised your unique skills (ie finding David Givney before Mountnugent did) , we would not need the divisional football !
