Two games in the books.
First half of the Junior final was a hard watch but had a good exciting ending. Well done to the munchies on a hard fought win.
The intermediate final was a big step up in quality. Cuchulainns have been the best team all championship and again were overall the stronger team. Evan Doughty was very impressive- surely deserves a run with the county after his championship. I thought Ryan Tobin was also particularly impressive- very strong runner and took some very good scores. Although lots of good performances from a number of men.
The bridge relied heavily on a few super individual performances. For me Fiontan O'Reilly was the best player on the park. An absolute clinic in long range score taking, passing and dictating the pace of the bridge attack- worth the admission alone. Caoimhin O'Reilly looked sharp for a man that hasn't played much ball this year- the bridge will be hoping he sticks around for next year. Again this year probably overly reliant on these two lads for getting scores. (Must have been 15 points between them on Sunday) Also big performances from Joe Dugdale- I'm excited about this young man's potential and Cathal Leddy who won a lot of dirty ball around the middle.
The bridge were really missing the leadership and reliability of Flanagan this year in defence. Also the second year in a row with a very poor start to the big game. Something they need to look at.
Big congratulations to Cuchulainns and let's hope they can push on in Ulster.
What are out thoughts on the senior final this weekend?

Looks like it was an East Cavan Blue and White championship all round.

The Junior Final was a good exciting game for sure, but it was between two good junior teams, whilst Cuchulainn's were deserved winners, lets not pretend that they plied their trade in Division one of the league this year, handing them a significant advantage over the Bridge - by saying that, I mean no disrespect to them, they would have competed in the Senior Championship, same with Arva when they won their junior honours. It's been said before, the County Board need to revitalise football in Cavan and the best way to do that is to revitalise the competition where teams play the most games, the league. Most teams get to play 4/5 games in the Championship, whereas the league is at least 10 games so why not make it more competitive, if you play Division One League, you play senior championship etc etc, that way, teams will take the league seriously, it will add the competitive edge and there is far more to play for.

Would that not make it less competitive...teams who lose a few games, throwing the league and then being really strong in intermediate/junior. Or staying in Div 3 and winning 5 junior championships in a row.

You could keep promotion/relegation within the championship to prevent that from happening - I went to the Tyrone Championship Final on Sunday, crowd was phenomenal, but also the standard of football was much higher than anything I've witnessed in Cavan for a long time - Tyrone league is taken very serious, none of this nonsense of county players missing league games and the championship is knock out also so makes it very competitive & exciting.

Great Result for the Munchies over the weekend.
Knockbride now the only Cavan Junior team to not win a game in some time in that competition.
Munchies have a good chance next day out too.
