October 09, 2013Our seniors were defeated by 5-7 to 1-10 by Drumalee in the Senior Championship Relegation Semi Final in Ballyconnell on Saturday last. A disastrous start where the lads shipped three early goals proved costly as they trailed by 4-2 to 1-4 at half time and ultimately lost out by nine points. Belturbet team v Drumalee: Danny Anscombe; John Cahill, Peter Shannon, Padraic Rehill; Justin McDonald(0-1), Damien O'Reilly(0-1), Mark Lawlor; Eoin McGuigan, Cian Vaughan; Donal McDonald(0-1), Kevin McConnell, Ronan Cahill; Conal McGinley, Niall O'Reilly(0-3 2f), Niall Lawlor(1-4 1p, 2f). Subs Used: Barry O'Reilly, Johnny Higgins, Ben Murphy. The Seniors now face Denn in the Championship Relegation Final with a date yet to be confirmed.
Senior League Relegation Play-Off
Our seniors will face Crosserlough in the Division 1B league relegation play-off match this Saturday October 12th at 4pm in Lacken. Senior training tonight at 8pm and also this Friday at 8pm.
Club All Star Nomination
Congratulations to our club and county goalkeeper Caron Fay on her 2013 Ladies All Star Nomination for her excellent performances in goal for Cavan ladies this year. Well done Caron on a fantastic achievement.
Senior Ladies
Commiserations to the Belturbet Senior Ladies who were defeated by 1-14 to 0-6 by Tyrone Champions Cappagh in Killyclogher on Sunday last in the Ulster Intermediate Club Championship. This brings to a close an excellent year for the Ladies footballers clinching three titles and also enjoying excellent success at underage level where they clinched two titles. Well done to all the ladies and respective management teams on a sterling effort throughout the year.

Cavan will face Armagh in the 2014 Ulster Senior Championship quarter final after the draw was made on Thursday evening last.
Cavan U21's
Cavan U21's have been drawn against Derry in the preliminary round of the 2014 U21 Ulster Championship with the winners facing Tyrone.
