Arva GAA round-up and notices

Minor game this evening - St Joseph's (Arva/Killeshandra) play Killann Gaels in the Division 1 Minor League on this evening, Wednesday 2nd April at 6.30 p.m. All available supporters should make the trip and cheer on these young players.
League game called off last Saturday - The third round game in the Lakeside Manor Hotel Division 3 League between Arva had Crosserlough due to be played in Michael Cully Park on Saturday afternoon last had to be postponed because of all the rain over the previous few day's. Following an early morning inspection by club officials a call was made to the Fixtures Secretary who got a Referee to inspect it and with more rain promised he decided it was best to call it off.
On Saturday next, 5th of April Arva are travelling to Blacklion to play Shannon Gaels in Division 3 of the Cavan SFL with the throw-in timed for 5.30 p.m.
Ladies league game called off - On Saturday afternoon last the 29th of March the Arva ladies football game with Laragh Utd. in P. J. Duke memorial park, Stradone was also called off due to the inclement weather conditions.
Forthcoming GAA function - St. Patrick's Arva G.F.C. will honour their 1983 Intermediate and Division 2 League Champions at a function in the Breffni Arms Hotel and Leisure Centre, Arva on Saturday, 14th June next.
The evening will start of with a video from that era at 7.45 p.m. sharp followed with a meal at 9.00 p.m. A presentation will be made to the players and mentors and a very enjoyable evening is in store for everyone present. In the Championship Final they defeated Knockbride while in the League Final they defeated Cootehill following a replay. It's hoped that all the players involved will be available to attend on the night. Any supporters wishing to attend will be able to purchase tickets from club officials. Make a date for your diary and go along to what should be one of the best night's of the year.
Best wishes - Best wishes go to the Ladies Gaelic Football Team in Moyne Community School who play the All-Ireland semi-final this Thursday, 3rd April. Arva are represented on the team by Ruth Mulligan (team captain), Niamh McEntee and Grainne McGlade, while team-manager Kathleen Beatty is a selector with the Arva ladies football team.
